On September 5th, 2015, The Atlanta Wedding Band performed the wedding of Ryan Hughes and Ashley Rumbley in Greeneville, TN at the General Morgan Inn. From the looks of the setlist specified by Ashley and Ryan, we knew this was going to be a fun-filled celebration! The love in the room for these two fine folks was palpable from the first chord struck by the band. Ashley and Ryan chose the popular country ballad, “Mean to Me” by Brett Eldredge as their first dance. I love the second verse of that song,
“If mine could be the name that changes yours, the wine in your glass, the swing on your porch, the dollar in your pocket, and the peaceful in your sleep, then I’d be what you mean to me.”
Out of our first 26 weddings performed in 2015, that Brett Eldredge tune has served as a bride and groom first dance six times!
We played three energetic sets over a three hour reception. I knew this group was ready to have a good time when, during Garth Brooks’ classic, “Friends in Low Places”, everyone in the room sang along and knew every word!
Pardon the pun, but the icing on the proverbial cake came at the end of the evening when Ryan (groom) requested the Hank Williams timeless classic, “Family Tradition”. I thought it would be fun to let Ryan, the groomsmen, and Ryan’s Dad close out the night behind mic. They did not disappoint. I caught about a minute of the unforgettable performance on video. Watching this video is a great reminder to all of the guys in AWB why we love what we do!
An awesome couple that could not have been any easier to work with! Here is a photo taken by the very talented, Eric Garrison, of Eric Garrison Photography, www.ericgarrisonphotography.com. Congratulations Ashley and Ryan!
