Austin reached out to me in early 2017 with a game plan. That plan luckily involved AWB rocking 200+ of his and fiance, Mekenzie’s closest friends and family on the dance floor all night long, bringing hits non-stop! With very eclectic music tastes, from Texas country, Motown, top 40, 80’s, 90’s, pop country, we knew this would be a great match.
AWB’s own Alex Lipsky and Nate Sexton performed a gorgeous ceremony on Douglasville’s Foxhall Stables front lawn. This was our third wedding at Foxhall and we always love returning to this all in one, awesome venue. Selections from the ceremony included a very classical feel; Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring, Canon in D, Bridal Chorus an Wedding March.
During cocktail hour and dinner, AWB rocked tasty acoustic covers from the likes of Avicii, Kenny Chesney, Zac Brown Band, Oasis, Fountains of Wayne, and Pat Green, to name a few.
Following dinner, prior to a roof-raising 3 hour non-stop dance party, Austin and Mekenzie had their first dance to Dan and Shay’s “From the Ground Up”. It was a touching moment for these two lovebirds and we were very honoured to be a part of it!
From 9 until almost midnight, the dance floor stayed slammed all night. When wedding guests bring that kind of energy to a room it makes our job so much fun! Some notable artists covered from the night included; Pat Green, the Temptations, Earth Wind and Fire, Walk the Moon, Tim McGraw, Garth Brooks (“Friends in Low Places” venue-wide sing along! We love that!), Sister Sledge, Hootie and the Blowfish, Josh Abbot Band, Jimmy Eat World, the Chainsmokers, and Kenny Loggins, just to name a few!
Closing out the night, the Auburn alums chose, very fittingly, “Sweet Home Alabama”. What a night!
This was a night AWB will truly never forget. Austin and Mekenzie, thanks so much for letting us be a part of this incredible day and we hope our paths cross again soon!
