On a rare Sunday wedding for the Atlanta Wedding Band, we traveled to the Trolley Barn in Decatur, GA for the reception and ceremony of one of our favorite couples of all time, Stephen and Sarah Hecht! The band for the evening included Jeff Spirko on violin, fiddle, keys, vocals, John Thrasher on guitar and vocals, Seth Watters on bass and vocals, Nathan Sexton on guitar and vocals, and Marshall Coats on guitar and vocals.
AWB started out the afternoon performing the ceremony for Sarah and Stephen; “Yoou Are the Best Thing” by Ray Lamontagne, and “I Can’t Help Falling in Love With You” by Elvis Presley were performed for the bridal party and bridal entrance, and then the bride and groom exit.
The first dances for the evening were as follows:
Bride and Groom – “Stay With You” by John Legend
Father and Daughter – “The Way You Look Tonight” – Frank Sinatra
Mother and Son – “Forever Young” by Rod Stewart
Some hilarious and heartfelt toasts were then delivered followed by three hours of a monumental dance party! This was a Jewish wedding so we had the honor of performing “Hava Nagila” while Sarah and Stephen were hoisted in the air on their respective chairs to roughly a 15 minute celebratory dance, so much fun!
Some notable covers from the evening included,
September by Earth, Wind and Fire
You Make My Dreams by Hall and Oates
Ain’t too Proud to Beg by the Temptations
My Girl by the Temptations
Billie Jean and The Way You Make Me Feel by Michael Jackson
Purple Rain by Prince
and at the end of the night, AWB brought the fist pumps out for a rousing encore of “Don’t Stop Believin”!
AWB would like to thank Stephen and Sarah Hecht, as well as their parents, for having us. We have some awesome memories from your wedding and I hope we cross paths again soon!
Sincerely
John Thrasher (Atlanta Wedding Band)
